On June 17, a burglary occurred at 5252 Hwy. 301 N. at Wells Rd. The owner of the property came home and saw a vehicle in his driveway. The suspects, two white males, Damian Gensler and Robert Ealy ran from the house to their white Ford Explorer. The property owner rammed the Explorer with his truck in an effort to stop them but the suspects didn’t stop. The Sheriff’s deputies arrested the two men at 541 Popular Springs Rd. in a trailer. One suspect was hiding under the cabinet in the kitchen. One suspect obtained self-inflicted injuries by pounding his head against the divider in the patrol car. The inmate workers along with several detention officers of the Dade County Sheriff’s Office spent the day cleaning tires, sofas, tv’s and various other garbage off the road side on Newsome Gap Rd. Approximately 2,500 lbs. of debris was collected before 2:00 p.m. today and the crews are still working. The Dade County Sheriff’s Office is making every effort to trace these items back to the people who littered our beautiful county. When they are found, they will be prosecuted.

This morning around 1:45 a.m. officers were notified that a Davis Elementary student had made terroristic threats on Facebook. He had threatened to bring a gun to school.
School resource officers were notified and responded to the child’s residence. The child and his parents were brought to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office for questioning about the incident. (more…)Learn More
