Beginning at 6PM tonight, the Dade County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting the first Sheriff’s Citizens Academy course. The course is comprised of thirteen sessions covering topics including the jail, school resource officers, road patrols, investigations, court services, firearm safety, Special Operations Response Team, the Drug Task Force, Choosing Healthy Activities & Methods Promoting Safety (C.H.A.M.P.S.), Neighborhood Watch and more.
Participants in the class will receive a thorough education on emergency services available within the community, will participate in discussions and receive answers to any questions they may have. The Dade County Sheriff’s Office welcomes the community’s involvement and the opportunity to educate citizens on the many ways our community emergency services work and to better prepare them for handling any emergencies which may arise in the future.
