We would like to make a huge shout-out to the Optimist Club of Trenton-Dade, and Georgia Fraternal Order of Police Mountain Lodge, for sponsoring their annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Ceremony/Memorial. Every year, those two organizations have an awards ceremony, a memorial ceremony for Georgia's fallen officers, and lunch for all law enforcement.
This year, Dade County Deputy Nathaniel Espy was awarded the Optimist Officer of the Year, for all his work getting drugs and intoxicated drivers off our streets, as well as the numerous community events he's put on for our youth. Deputy Espy was up against nominations for officers from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Trenton Police Department.
We are proud of all the nominees, but especially proud of Deputy Espy. Thank you again for hosting this event, and proving once again that we live in the best community on earth!
